The demo project and demo mailbox

A fictional project with a mailbox that replays its mail, so you can see Astruct work before connecting your own.

The demo project, Kestrel Street Mixed-Use, Stage 2, is a fictional façade subcontract in Brisbane. Every person, company and email address in it is made up.

It comes with a mailbox labelled Demo mailbox (synthetic). The demo mailbox replays the project’s emails through the same pipeline your own mail goes through, so you can watch Astruct:

  • flag a site instruction that changes the scope of work, even though it says there is no change to the subcontract sum;
  • flag a crane outage and a late handover that delay the work;
  • find the notice clauses, work out the deadlines and mark them “check the clause”;
  • draft the variation notice and the delay notice for review.

Things to try

  • Ask: Do we need to give a variation notice for SI-014, and by when?
  • Search: bracket* w/5 ("slab edge" OR anchor*) AND "Rev C"
  • Open the variation issue and look at its evidence and clause.

Good to know

  • The demo mailbox never sends mail and never reads your mailbox.
  • Nothing in the demo is real advice about a real contract.
