Your first project
Create a project, add the contract, and tell Astruct who you are on the job.
Everything in Astruct belongs to a project: its documents, its mail, its questions and its drafts. Answers and deadlines come from that project’s contract, so it is worth setting the project up properly once.
Create the project
- In the sidebar, find Projects and choose +.
- Give the project the name your team uses, for example Kestrel Street, Stage 2.
- Open the project. Its page shows what needs attention, upcoming time bars, the issues Astruct is keeping and the project’s documents.
Add the contract first
Upload the executed contract or subcontract, including every annexure, special condition and amendment. Astruct reads the special conditions with the general conditions, so a clause that has been replaced is not used.
Add the contract before anything else if you can. The notice periods, business day rules and scope of work all come from it.
Tell Astruct your side of the contract
On the project page, check the contract details Astruct has picked up: the form of contract, the parties, your role (for example head contractor or subcontractor) and the state the work is in. Your role decides which notices are yours to give. The state decides which public holidays count when a period is in business days.
Then bring in the rest
Add drawings, the programme, RFIs, site diaries, minutes and past correspondence. See Bringing in documents. Then connect the project mailbox so new mail is read as it arrives. See Connecting Outlook.
