Connecting Uploads
Files, whole folders, zips and saved emails (.eml, .msg), from any system.
Always available, for anything Astruct does not connect to.
- Who does it: You.
- How long: As long as the upload takes. Keep the tab open until it finishes.
What Astruct reads
- Everything you upload: PDFs, Word and Excel files, images, saved emails with their attachments, and the files inside zips. Each is filed by what it is and read.
Upload to a project
- On the new project page, step 2 (Documents), drop files, folders or zips onto the box, or select Choose files or Choose a folder. Or open the project's Library and select Upload or Folder.
- Any number of files, in any mix. Folders keep their structure; zips are opened and keep their folders. Up to 50 MB a file.
- Saved emails (.eml from most mail apps, .msg from Outlook) are read as emails and filed as correspondence, with their attachments.
- The list shows each file as it uploads. When it says Uploaded, Astruct reads it.
When it is working
- Each file shows Uploaded, then appears in the project's Library in its folder.
If something goes wrong
- “over the 50 MB limit” Compress the file or split it into parts of 50 MB or less.
- “Skipped: ” A system file (such as .DS_Store or Thumbs.db) or an empty file. Nothing to do.
- “This file is password protected, so its pages cannot be read.” Save a copy without the password and upload that.
- “A .mpp cannot be read directly.” Save the programme from Microsoft Project as XML (File > Save As > XML Format) and upload that.
- “Did not upload” Select Retry. If it fails again, check your connection and try the file on its own.
